Built for Function, Not Just for Show

A lot of 3D printing services are set up for display models and cosmetic prints. PrecisionFab SA treats it as an engineering tool — printing parts meant to actually work, mount, and take load, not just look right in a photo.

If you don’t have a CAD file yet, that’s not a blocker. We can take a sketch, a description, or a broken original part through design first, then straight into a printed prototype you can hold and test-fit before committing to anything further.

  • Concept-to-CAD Design: Turning an idea, a hand sketch, or a failed part into a proper 3D model.
  • Functional Prototyping: Printed parts sized and toleranced to test real fit and mechanical function, not just appearance.
  • Reverse Engineering: Got a broken or discontinued machinery part with no drawing available? We measure it, model it, and print a working replacement.
  • Short Production Runs: Once a design is proven, we can print it in volume without injection-moulding tooling costs.

Materials Chosen for the Job

  • ABS / ASA / Polycarbonate — impact resistance and UV stability for outdoor brackets and enclosures.
  • Carbon-fibre reinforced nylon — stiffness and strength for gears, structural links, and jigs.
  • TPU and flexible polymers — vibration dampers, gaskets, and wear components.

An Engineer Looks at Every File Before It Prints

Print orientation, wall count, and infill pattern decide whether a printed part survives real use or snaps under the first real load. Files here are reviewed by an engineer with 35+ years of hands-on experience — including a stint as junior engineer on an Antarctic research vessel maintaining off-grid power and utility systems under conditions where a part failing wasn’t an option, and over a decade as maintenance superintendent at a fruit-packing and cold storage plant keeping production machinery running.

That’s the practical lens your file gets checked through: will this part actually do the job it’s meant to do, and is there a cheaper or stronger way to print it.

Who This Suits

  • Product developers and inventors validating a design before committing to tooling or mass production.
  • Agricultural and workshop operators needing a fast replacement for a discontinued or imported part.
  • Automation and electrical builders needing custom enclosures, mounts, or jigs.
