Precision Laser Cutting for Prototypes, Panels, and Permanent Marking
Engineer-Reviewed Laser Cutting and Engraving on the Garden Route — Shipping Nationwide.
Clean Cuts, Reviewed Before They’re Made
Laser cutting looks simple until a design doesn’t account for material expansion, kerf, or where a mounting hole sits relative to a bracket it has to bolt to. At PrecisionFab SA, files are checked by an engineer before anything is cut — not run straight from upload to machine.
That review comes from a genuine engineering background: 35+ years across mechanical maintenance and plant engineering, including over a decade as maintenance superintendent at a fruit-packing and cold storage facility, plant engineering work at a national bakery group, and site installation work on brewery boiler and piping systems — the kind of environments where a mislabelled panel or a mis-sized cutout costs real downtime.
What We Cut and Engrave
- Control panel inserts and equipment facias — cutouts for switches, displays, and mounting points, cut to match your electrical layout.
- Permanent asset tags and data plaques — engraved, not printed, so they survive years of handling and weather.
- Acrylic prototypes and display parts — clean edges, ready to assemble without secondary finishing.
- Custom brackets and profiles in plastics and thin-gauge material, cut to a supplied drawing or a part we’ve reverse-engineered for you.
Materials We Work With
Acrylic, HDPE, Nylon, POM/Delrin, dual-layer engraving plastics (Rowmark and similar), plywood, MDF, and thin-gauge aluminium and composite panel — up to 3mm on the laser, with thicker material routed on the CNC instead.
Built for One-Offs and Short Runs
This is a workshop laser, not a factory sheet-metal line — which is exactly why it suits prototype work and short runs well. A one-off part gets the same attention as batch of fifty: reviewed, test-fit where it matters, and cut clean the first time.
- No Setup Fees or Tooling Costs: Go from a digital file straight to a cut part — one unit or a hundred.
- Fast Turnaround: Most quotes reviewed and returned within 24 hours.
- Direct Feedback: If a design change would improve fit, strength, or cut quality, you hear it from the person running the machine.
Who We Work With
- Product developers needing acrylic or plastic prototype parts cut clean and fast.
- Automation and electrical contractors needing control panel inserts and enclosure cutouts.
- Agricultural and workshop operators needing asset tags, machinery labels, or a replacement part cut from a broken original.
